GLOBAL TRENDS 2025: THE NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE COUNCIL’S 2025 PROJECT (bye by “greatest world police”)

From the Chairman of the National Intelligence Council
“Global Trends 2025: A Transformed World” is the fourth unclassified report prepared by the National Intelligence Council (NIC) in recent years that takes a long-term view of the future. It offers a fresh look at how key global trends might develop over the next 15 years to influence world events. Our report is not meant to be an exercise in prediction or crystal ball-gazing. Mindful that there are many possible “futures,” we offer a range of possibilities and potential discontinuities, as a way of opening our minds to developments we might otherwise miss.

Some of our preliminary assessments are highlighted below:

* The whole international system—as constructed following WWII—will be revolutionized. Not only will new players—Brazil, Russia, India and China— have a seat at the international high table, they will bring new stakes and rules of the game.
* The unprecedented transfer of wealth roughly from West to East now under way will continue for the foreseeable future.
* Unprecedented economic growth, coupled with 1.5 billion more people, will put pressure on resources—particularly energy, food, and water—raising the specter of scarcities emerging as demand outstrips supply.
* The potential for conflict will increase owing partly to political turbulence in parts of the greater Middle East.

As with the earlier NIC efforts—such as Mapping The Global Future 2020—the project’s primary goal is to provide US policymakers with a view of how world developments could evolve, identifying opportunities and potentially negative developments that might warrant policy action. We also hope this paper stimulates a broader discussion of value to educational and policy institutions at home and abroad.

Well, this is what I and many with me have echoed for years now. US has the biggest
bluff economy and the collapse have finally forced an opening towards a paradigmshift.
But US also resembles ignorance and uneducation internally and externally an unmatched
arrogance and greed. And then we have the illegalties of the US actions which were their
in the beginning had has never stoped.

I applaued a new world order and don´t believe that it will be worse than having an
ignorant, hateful, greed, white christian power invade, massmurder, lie and support
and endorse murder!

Oh poor Israel! What will they be without big forgiving daddy Usa? No wonder they are
doing everything to ethnically cleanse Palestine and build up their MASS DESTRUCTION WEAPONs.
They have about 17 years to go…
Tick tack tick tack…

…to a reality where US really is a result of its own inabilities and history!
Leaving Israel to face reality beyond the “victimhood” and aggression.
Bring that time on cause the rest of the world is ready!

  1. if you believe that I have some land on the tip of Tamil Nadu available for you…oops its now underwater. Literally and financially.

The United States has differentiated itself from the rest of the world due to one fundamental, driving belief….invest in Research, without prejudice. While Europe has been busy providing social nets of ever increasing size, the United States has increased investments in R&D. I do not mean research on how to improve productivity or build a better mouse trap. Fundamental research, blue sky research, the kind that leads to creative destruction in the marketplace over time.

If the global spend on fundamental research is $100 per year then the United States is spending over 60% of this amount. Is it any wonder that every gadget has been invented in the US…they may be manufactured world-wide…but first they have to be invented. When I look around, every home convenience and product is due to research in the US. From TV’s (thank you Mr Einstein for the photo-electric effect), fridge’s, phones, ac’s, cd’s, dvd’s computers…..need I go on to cars, airplanes…

Looking forward I see no change; as the world’s belt is tightened even more due to this financial crisis, the gap between the US and the rest of the world in R&D will only grow. I cannot think of a single field of study that the US is not out-spending and out-thinking the World. And as a result they attract the best from the world over.

Europe has a place at the table of powers…but the competition is for second…there is no competition for first place. Europe is in enormous trouble due to this financial crisis…they have conditioned their societies to support from government programs. Touching these programs is going to be very difficult…R&D spending will be cut back even more…they will lose even more of their brains to the only game in town…the US.

China is a homogeneous society…they can spend like crazy and reproduce to their hearts content…but they will attract no one from outside….restricting yourself to only your population for brains is obviously a losing constraint. And insisting on the supremacy of your language is an even bigger handicap. I do not see India in a better position on any measure.

To become a power will mean contributing to the World in significant ways…making clothes, writing programs and answering phones is not sufficient. Until China and India are able to spend on R&D in a significant way, attract global intellectual resources and organize to produce results for the world I do not see what all the fuss is about.

India and China will be the complainers in the World Order; the intellectual firepower at work on break-through solutions will be attracted by resources…

What do China and India offer the world besides labor? Sweat shops have to be taken seriously…but not in long term decision making. A transformation is required…

I will bet against either China or India having the capacity for this transformation in the next twenty five years.

  2. So you measure the US hegemony in the R&D perspective? What a weired reducing way which would lead me to think that you have not read or understood the world. We do NOT live in an economic world or a laboratory, we live in a ecological world with social relations.

In US 30 milion people live on “third world” standard and you talk about the “massive” advantage US has because it´s R&D. Who is doing this amazing R&D reseach? Forgeiners? Well, most of them bail out after a couple of years and go back to their beloved country. Oops… maybe that´s why US education level is appaulingly low while your fat consumtion and world perception is one and the same?

Chinte is not a homogeneous society?! Pick up a book! Oh boy, you MUST BE one of all those milions of uneducated americans… And while I am teaching you so much new… China IS attracting all kinds of actors. This might be something YOU do not agree upon but hey the world is bigger than your obvious limitations…

Your whole argument falls even before it is written. R&D is not a critiera to judge domination or survival on. If you don´t know that or accknowledge that I kind of feel sorry for you. You are then one of milions americans that still believe that their US is the best country in the word bla bla blaa…
…even when the minor educational part of your bless country say otherwise!

You bet will be your nightmare.
Your nightmare will be the dawn of a new world.
The new world will be a better world free of American “whitness” double standard and less of it´s greed…
